Disability and Psychosocial Support Specialist

What is the opportunity?
As a Disability Support Specialist, you will make a positive impact on the lives of the participants with your compassionate and supportive approach by:
- Creating a welcoming, professional, and supportive care experience
- Providing personal care assistance with daily living
- Offering mobility assistance in accordance with resident care plans
- Building relationships with our residents and visitors
- Being a collaborator who enjoys having fun at work
- Displaying exceptional time management skills and attention to detail
- Maintaining accurate health care documentation as required
What we require from you:
Availability to work a rotating roster including active shifts, sleepover shifts, AM and PM, and availability to work with short notice. Able to work with Children and youth aged between 0-18 years old
Experience working with complex care children/youth is a must!
1. Minimum of two years paid experience working in disability, youth work, community services, health services, social welfare, or early education
2. Training to support children with high and complex needs
3. First aid certificate
4. Driver's license
We also highly regard candidates who:
- Hold a diploma in disability, youth work, community services, health services, social welfare, or early child development and/or education
- Are trained in positive behavior support and implementing behavior support plans
- Are trained in understanding the impacts of trauma and providing trauma-informed care
- Have completed NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children, Certificate 3 or have paid experience, updated police check, first aid & CPR certificate, driver's license, reliable transport, and comprehensive insurance, and have valid rights to work in Australia (passport, birth certificate, etc.)
